news 14.09.2009            Contemporary, jazz and electronics.
The cellist, Jakob Kullberg, with his trio in collaboration with Contemporánea in Literaturhaus the 28th of september at 20.00. The evening begins with two pieces for solo cello by two of the most established danish composers, Bent Sørensen and Per Nørgård, followed by a premiere for solo cello and live-electronics by Rune Glerup who belongs to the youngest generation of danish composers. After that, Jakob Kullberg will be playing with his jazz-trio with Ejnar Kanding, electronics. So it is going to be an evening with a wide span in the programme, from three generations of composers view on the cello, to the experimental meeting between jazz and the miracles of electronic music. 01.08.2009            Rune Glerup appointed conductor of Contemporánea.
Following two succesful concerts in Copenhagen and Århus in February and March 2009, Rune Glerup has been appointed conductor of Contemporánea. Rune Glerup has mainly become known as a composer, and is currently studying composition and electroacoustics with Niels Rosing-Schow and Hans Peter Stubbe Teglbjærg in the soloist class at the Royal Danish Academy of Music in Copenhagen. He has studied conducting with Pierre-André Valade, and participated in masterclasses with Jorma Panula and Mariusz Smolij. In addition to becoming conductor of the ensemble, he is hereby a part of the artistic direction of the ensemble, and the ambition is, in the course of some years, to increase the number of annual concerts, and to strengthen and stimulate the danish scene for electroacoustic music.  
27.08.2009            World premiere of I Sette Venti by Ejnar Kanding.
The Danish painter Nes Lerpa http://neslerpa.com and Ejnar Kanding collaborated in an exhibition performance in July 17-26, 2009 in Savona, Italy. Paintings, sculptures and ceramics by Nes Lerpa was exhibited in the huge hall Palazzo della Sibilla in the castle Priamar (1542) along the coast of Liguria. Kanding created a new 23 minutes long work I Sette Venti for violin, percussion and electrophony. The performances was partly open air in the yard of the castle and partly in the Sibilla hall performed by David Hildebrandt (perc) and Helianne Blais (violin).http://neslerpa.comshapeimage_9_link_0
